Monthly Goals for May 2017

Hola, everyone!

After being given a second weekend off for a bit of annual leave, it got me thinking what I wanted to achieve throughout May. I have had many goals this year and I won't lie, I have achieved quite a lot since my New Year's resolutions post. So this is more for motivation for myself and for other's who are wanting a little push to achieve their goals.

1. Pass my theory test
So I have been doing my lessons for quite some time & have massively put off my theory test as I wanted to get close to the end. Now it's near the end, approaching my test but unfortunately, I can't move forward with that until I pass my theory... After revising non-stop and it's given me a highway headache ha, jokes aside, hopefully on tuesday I can book in and finally pass in order to move onto the bigger and more scary test to actually get me out on the road.

2. Have my operation
This is indeed for medical reasoning - two years ago during the beginning of my third year at University I fell downstairs and smashed my face into a brick wall, therefore resulting in a badly broken nose (ouch, I know). After the last two months of having it rescheduled I have managed to ask to see a doctor who will then hopefully refer me for a "under the knife" surgery. I will more than likely post my experience of this in a few weeks!

3. Flat Hunt & Move out my shared house
Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed the majority of my time living in a shared property but I feel as if I'm ready to get my own place. Whether it's on my own or with my boyfriend, right now I just need to call somewhere home without feeling like I'm going to murder someone for being a disturbance... ha!

4. Manage my finances properly
I have struggled for months, if not years with budgeting. So add paying bills to the mix, it more or less gets you down. Paying £400+ for a room in a shared house, actually sucks. I feel as if I never have any money left to do something for myself - or I've got so used to saving it and became tightfisted. So I've promised myself to get ontop of my finances, even if it leaves me with nothing each week, it'll be a massive weight off my shoulders for sure.

5. Cook more - Eat out less
Eating out is great, I love trying new places. However, when it's making you feel guilty for spending money you should be saving, gaining weight and getting bored - it's time to break out and start trying to eat smarter and leaner at home. That is a big aim of mine to succeed with, as I do miss cooking and get more in shape.

6. Have more "me" time
I don't have much "me" time anymore as I love spending time with my friends and boyfriend. When I'm not with them, I'm at work looking after everyone there. I've recently been through a really difficult time and my depression played a huge part of it. But after having time to think about it, there's not been much time where I've spent a day alone, getting things done and enjoying my own company so I definitely need to make more time in order to do that.

7. Exercise / Yoga
Week by week I've said to myself "i'll start tomorrow" or do 6 days working out then I stop for a total of two weeks. I lack in motivation to help myself feel confident and look after my body properly. Don't get me wrong I have finally started shaping up and losing a few lbs here and there, but I want to keep it persistent as body confidence has a huge grind on my anxiety. Anyone who struggles with anxiety or body confidence issues will understand where I'm coming from, it's difficult. But it's a goal of mine to keep striving to do the best I can to feel happy within myself as well as my body.

What are YOUR monthly goals??

Primark Wishlist #2 | April 2017

Hola, everyone!

So in January when I was posting quite regular before becoming extremely busy, I did a Primark wishlist and had so much fun doing it. I did actually get some of the products I listed because well, it would have been rude not to!! Here is my first wishlist, do check it out: Primark wishlist #1

HOMEWARE

As you can probably work out, I am a home-ware addict. Although I live in a shared house which I can't really decorate, there's no harm in future planning for my own flat, right? Well, that's exactly what I'm doing. Primark does the BEST home-ware for reasonable pricing too. I do have plans to go Primark in the next couple of weeks to explore and pick up the majority of the things above, I mean; they're so pretty to look at, don't you agree? Makes me super excited to actually get my own place in the near future!

Find all the Home-ware here:

CLOTHING

I'm no fashion expert, nor do I intend to be. If anything, I dress more for comfort and for my body type rather than to impress. I much prefer comfortable and trendy clothing, nothing to barbaric, but something a little different to everyone else. Browsing through the Primark Website was quite disappointing as their products are limited on there, so a visit to the store is definitely in order once I pay all my bills... (Priorities, right?) I LOVE everything I have chosen to show above, I can see myself wearing it all. Some smart, some casual, some comfortable bed wear. Can't go wrong really!!

ACCESSORIES

Again, as I've said above the website itself was limited to what was in store... BUT I found some things I freaking love, I've already bought the sunglasses as a few weeks ago I just fell in love. Seriously though, can we just admire the Prosecco lip balm though?! A M A Z I N G. Last year, I went into Primark and bought a backpack which was literally the love of my life... jokes aside it was my saviour but recently broke along with my heart. So I have been looking through Primark's selection and I only found two that could be a potential use for riding around on my bike as my handbag just isn't appropriate. What are your favourite accessories?

March | 2017

Hola, everyone!

I didn't really 'collect' much to have a favourites this month. So instead, I'm going to summarise some of the best bits that happened throughout March, something a little different :)

1. I got my first tattoo... did it hurt? No, I barely even moved/flinched when having it done. I chose this because I've been through hell and back over the last few years and having anxiety/depression lurking over me, sucks. So I wanted to have an upbeat, joyful tattoo to make me smile every day... cheesy right?

2. I learnt how to play Badminton - I never really learnt properly in school or in my own time how to play badminton. Having someone as patient as Ash willing to teach me made me happy. In the end, I was hitting the shuttlecock which to me, was a milestone on its own. :)

3. I fit into a dress I never used to fit into properly - I said in my New Year's Resolutions post that I wanted to shed a few lbs and feel confident in the process. Safe to say when this happened, I was beaming all day. I was chuffed. In November 2016 I weighed approximately 13 stone (I think) I now weigh around 10 stone 9lbs which is amazing. I still have a long way to go but this is a start.

4. Went back to play mini-golf -  I first went here when I broke my ribs in February (fell in my kitchen, wasn't my smartest idea) and I somehow won, which was great as I get really competitive. So going back a second time for a "re-match" if you want, was very refreshing. I enjoy mini-golf as I feel like it's something I'm good at and I like doing different activities. Was definitely a fun day as I won one game and the second game was a draw. However it's not about winning, it's more about the company you have that makes it fun :)

5. Mothers Day - So for Mother's day, I tried to be all sweet and stuff and surprised my mum with some presents. These flowers were actually from her birthday but they were this open on Mother's day, so so pretty!! Anyways, I asked my step-dad to take me to get her some little presents and ended up getting her a book, card & chocolates as well... what else can you get on a small budget? ha. Safe to say she loved them! & I got to see my Pepsi again. I introduced her in 2015 when I was in my final year at University, read that post here.

6. Pizza Date-night - Every night to us is date night, but this night really stood out for me. As I had finished work at 7 pm we wanted to spend the night together and unwind a little bit by making our pizza's which I have to say... WERE AMAZING. If you told me last year I would find someone who makes my life so much better, stands by me and supports me in absolutely everything, I more or less would have laughed in your face. But I have found a great guy, who I really do not deserve, at all. He's pretty special and I can't imagine my life without him now as he had made it so much better from the day he messaged me back. Cheesy I know ha...

7. My not so little nephew turned 1 years old - How did this even happen? I mean, He's not my little cuddle buddy anymore. He's now near enough walking, recognising me his favourite Aunty ;) lol & ahh! it genuinely melts my heart, it really does :) Can't wait until he running around everywhere and talking, I won't be saying that when it happens hahaha! Little cutie he is, literally makes me so happy :) I literally remember the day he was born, he was so tiny. I was so scared to even hold him at one point because I didn't want to hurt him and I don't handle crying babies so well ha! But each time we cuddled it was like our bond was developing -- can't wait to see the little monkey again! I miss his contagious little laugh so so so much :)

9. My favourite band acknowledged my tweet - This is a pretty big deal. YOU ME AT SIX FAVOURITED / LIKED MY TWEET like what. Just what. I love their new album and this one song "Take on the world" literally hits me right in the feels... so whilst I was fangirling the LIKED IT. OMG I'M STILL NOT OVER IT. It honestly made me smile like an absolute idiot :) I'm gutted that on the 7.4.17 - when they're in my hometown, I won't be able to see them perform as I have other plans and no money. Sucks big time, but I have this to latch onto in the meantime which is just as good :)

10. My happy place -  Lakeside, Doncaster. It's probably my favourite place to go running and walking, to clear my head. Especially at night time when it's not as busy. I literally feel so much better whenever I leave here. I definitely need to make more of an effort to go running again, probably when my ribs have fully healed. Definitely, something to look forward to :)

Tea Tree Witch Hazel Facial Wash Review | 2017

Hola, everyone!

I have found a new love for writing reviews. Although, I somehow manage to venture onto a new wavelength and totally go off topic. But yeah, I came across this Tea Tree Witch Hazel product through the one and only, Niomi Smart as she partnered with Boots. I saw her talking about it and I thought it looked good so when I was in boots last month, I picked one up. Without realising until I got home... which was a happy moment. Ever since I have been absolutely OBSESSED!

Tea Tree Witch Hazel with Active Charcoal - Daily Detox Facial Wash -
£4.55

When it comes to any form of facial wash, body scrub or moisturiser I really do struggle to find one that is compatible with my skin. As mentioned in several previous posts, I suffer from dry skin and when it's dry it gets irritable which really isn't good. Tea Tree Witch Hazel has actually cared for my skin better than expected. If anything it nursed my skin completely back to health and has never felt so soft. I managed to persuade the boyfriend to try it and even he was amazed, no joke.
What I like most about this product is the active charcoal which gently cleanses and attracts dirt like a 'magnet' as described on the casing. It draws out deep down impurities and excess oil without over-drying the skin or sending it to completely break out.

Step one - Wet hands and face with warm-ish water and apply the product in your hand, preferably your fingertips as it gets really messy. Leave on for about 3-5minutes as it's giving the charcoal chance to work its magic.

Step two - After 3-5minutes has passed, wash off gently with a flannel or your hands, whichever is more doable. I'd recommend the flannel though. Dry your face with a clean towel making sure any excess product comes off.

Step three - Apply any type of moisturiser to your face and let it sink in for about 5 minutes. Leaving it on all morning until your regular make-up routine(s) etc.

Step four - See the results. I mean, from this photo alone you can see how clear my skin looks just from a 10 minute morning cleanse.

I'd recommend using this product 2-3 times a week as it does your skin wonders and gets rid of blackheads and stop spots from forming also. Obviously it will have a different effect on different skin types but still, try it if you're looking for something new to add to your skin care routine. :)
